Obv: [KA]ICAPOC - TEOY Y[IOY] Bare head of Augustus r. Rx: CICTPI / ??WN / THC IEPAC Nike advancing r. holding palm over shoulder and wreath. Ex Philip Ashton Collection, acquired from Alex Malloy, April 2005. Possibly issued by an otherwise unknown city 'Sistripia', in Syria or Phoenicia to judge from the epithet 'the holy' and from the fabric and style; or possibly an issue from a known city but with blundered legend (RPC, p. 600). Rare: RPC I records just four specimens, perhaps all from the same die pair; RPC Supplements 1-2 up to 2006 add another four examples, for a total of eight, making ours the ninth recorded.High relief.
